Tilitonse Foundation has said it is pleased with the way its partners are implementing projects using the support it is providing.

The Foundation is providing €1.4 million (about K1.1 billion), to 11 grant partners under the Open Call Window and five partners under the Thematic Call Window on urban governance and management.

At a learning and sharing event for the 16 grant partners which took place in Lilongwe on Wednesday, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Robert White, said success of the projects is important to the organization.

“The Foundation is a living institution and this can be proven by the projects it is supporting, the progress registered in the projects, the successes and achievements, lessons learnt and challenges faced. We have reached a point where we can stand up and point at what we have done with the support provided to grant partners,” White said.

Church and Society Programme of the Livingstonia Synod of the CCAP is working with Find Your Feet in the implementation of a project called Promoting Participatory and Inclusive Development in Likoma and Rumphi Districts.

Its Project Officer, Fanny Chumbi, said the project has a positive impact on development in the two districts.

“At first duty bearers were not responsive enough to the demands of rights holders. But this has changed. They are becoming more responsive on development activities,” she said.

The event provided a platform for learning and sharing best practices on programming and project and grant management.
