Mothers Day is around the corner. Several organisers have come out to host different events to celebrate with mothers.
One of the events set to give mothers a treat is the Gospel Show Mothers Day Special set to be headlined by, among others, Lilongwe-based gospel group Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers.
The show starts on Sunday at Gymkhana Club in Zomba before moving on to Robins Park in Blantyre on Monday.
Apart from Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers, several other acts will also perform during the two shows and they include Thocco Katimba, Princess Chitsulo, Favoured Martha, Allan Chirwa, Limbani Simenti, Mau K, Miracle Chinga, King James Phiri, Steve Muliya, Ethel Kamwendo Banda and Eliza Mponya.
“The shows are just a get together for mothers. As gospel artists, we want to give them a treat but also appreciate all the good things they do. Through the two shows we also want to bring families together,” said King James Phiri, one of the artists performing.
He called on people to come in large numbers and patronise the two shows and give mothers a treat.
Phiri said the first 10 women to enter the show will be given Zitenje.
