Times Group Socials’ impressive performance has caught the attention of the company’s Managing Director Leonnard Chikadya, who has since pledged a new uniform.
Chikadya gave moral support to the team on Saturday when Times Group Socials came from behind to beat Blantyre Water Board 2-1 at BAT Ground in Blantyre.
“Healthy living is a must for each and every person. This is the reason we are encouraging our players to keep fit by, among other things, playing football.
“We, as management we will buy them a new kit as a way of motivating them. The boys came from behind to grab a win against a highly charged side,” he said.
Times Group Socials Head Coach Yankho Seunda said they were aiming at extending their unbeaten run to 20 games.
“We are so much indebted to the support we get from the Managing Director Leonnard Chikadya. He personally spared his time to cheer up the team,” said Seunda, who has inspired Times to nine wins and a defeat in 10 games.
Attacker Chimwemwe Mangazi underlined his class when he won and converted a penalty in the 88th minute before setting up Emmanuel Phiri to score the winner in extra time.
Times Group Socials’ next fixture is against Macra next week.
