Tina seeks injunction over Fashion4 Change
One of the founders of Alpha Agency which is spearheading Fashion4 Change event set for Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre on Saturday, Tina Kaphuka, is reported to be seeking an injunction following the use of the name Alpha Agency by co-founder Ausa Kamanga as well as the event.
Tina, who created Alpha Agency with Ausa alongside Francis and Jack Kaphuka confirmed Tuesday of the development.
“Yes I can confirm that I am seeking an injunction over the use of Alpha Agency. This company was disbanded but my colleague has been using it without the other founder’s consent and on top of that, Fashion4 Change event was created by Alpha Agency,” Tina said.
She could not be drawn to divulge more information saying they would be having an inter-parte hearing at the commercial Court.
“We are having the hearing on Thursday (tomorrow) and once everything is heard from both parties then we can now move in with the injunction but for now I can’t say much,” she said.
Tina claimed that Ausa was using Fashion4 Change without consent from the others.
Kamanga was surprised Tuesday with the issue.
“I have just been hearing about it from people but I have no idea about what is going on. I have also not been served with any letter,” Kamanga said.
Ausa and team have partnered Blantyre City Council to hold Fashion4 Change running under the theme ‘Buy A Bin, Keep Our Communities Clean and Be Part of the Change’.
The event is this year running for the third time, with 15 Malawian and four international designers set to showcase their works.
