TNM dangles Lake of Stars Fest tickets

NGWENYA—We are still offering 13.5 percent discount to customers

As the country looks ahead to the Lake of Stars Festival to be held at Kabumba Hotel in Salima District from September 28 to 30, TNM which is the festival’s official mobile telecoms and Information Communication Technology (ICT) partner, has announced that it will give out five tickets through a social media promotion.

In a press statement, TNM says it will give out five tickets to lucky winners of its social media competition.

It further says, to stand a chance of winning, fans and festival lovers are being asked to post “Like” on TNM’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.

For Facebook (TelekomNetworksMalawi), users are required to answer a question on “Which TNM product allows them to cash out your bank even when there is no ATM around” whilst for Twitter, fans are being asked to “post a video of them singing the most popular Sauti Sol song with caption #IssaFestivoo.

Sauti Sol is a popular Kenyan group that is set to perform at this year ’s festival.

For Instangram (@ alwayswithyoumw) TNM is simply asking fans to post their best photo having fun in the sun with the hashtag #IssaFestivoo.

TNM Head of Marketing, Sobhuza Ngwenya, says they are excited to offer five tickets to lucky fans who interact with TNM via the telecoms social media platform.

“This is an opportunity for our customers who interact with TNM through social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The more “likes” they generate for us on these social media platforms, the higher their chances of winning these five tickets to be party to the festival and save K37,000,” Ngweya says.

TNM is also offering a 13.5 percent tickets discount to the festival for customers who buy tickets through TNM’s mobile money service Mpamba.

“We are still offering a 13.5 percent discount to customers who buy their tickets to the three-day festival through the TNM mobile money service. Festival goers will pay K32,000.00, down from K37,000.00 saving K5,000 if they buy the tickets on Mpamba,” he says.

TNM, recently announced that it had pumped K8.8 million to the festival.

Other companies such as Castel Malawi and FDH have also come out to announce their partnership with the festival which returns this year after a one-year break.

Apart from Sauti Sol, the other international acts set to perform at this year’s festival include Major Lazer from United States of America, Makatumbe from Germany and Michael Pedersen from Scotland.

There are also local acts on the line-up and they include Madalitso Band, Fredokiss, Kim of Diamonds and Faith Mussa.

Lake of Stars Festival, which warmed up the main gathering with Set It Off show in Zomba in January and then festivals in London and Scotland, celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.

The festival last Friday also partnered Film Association of Malawi to hold the 2018 Lilongwe Short Film Festival.
