Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) on Monday donated physiotherapy equipment worth K3.5 million to Kachere Rehabilitation Centre in Blantyre.
Speaking when he presented the donation, TNM Mobile Money Trust board member, Zacc Kawalala, said the gesture is one of the company’s continued efforts of assisting governme n t i n the delivery of quality health services.
“This is a fulfillment of one of TNM’s corporate social responsibility pillars of responding to the needs of members of the society who are most in need,” he said.
Kawalala said it was important for TNM to provide assistance to Kachere Rehabilitation Centre because it is the only referral rehabilitation centre in the country and yet it does not have enough resources.
In his r ema rks , Kachere Rehabilitation Centre board chairperson, Aziz Yassin, expressed gratitude for the donation and acknowledged that it was timely because the centre was failing to operate to the best of its ability due to lack of equipment.
Among others, the donated items include a treadmill, a cycling machine and a scale.
