TNM donates to flood victims
TNM on Thursday donated relief items worth K3.2 million in response to recent floods that affected some parts of Zomba.
Making the donation, TNM Senior Public Relations Manager, Akossa Mphepo, said the gesture is one way of joining government in alleviating the plight of those affected by floods.
“The floods have left many destitute and as a caring brand, we decided to reach out to the victims with a few items that will aid them as they regain their ground,” she said.
Mphepo added: “We sought guidance from the Department of Disaster and Management Affairs (Dodma) officials on areas that have been hardest hit and that have received the least amount of support and they directed us to T/A Kuntumanje,” Mphepo said.
She reaffirmed TNM’s commitment towards assisting the victims to recover from effects of the floods.
“200 families are expected to benefit from the donation which comprises plastic sheets, buckets, plates, maize flour and soya pieces,” Mphepo said.
