Super League sponsor, TNM, has launched a new promotion called Zampira which will involve supporters of all the 16 teams in the top flight league.
Speaking at the launching ceremony yesterday at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre, TNM’s Chief Officer for Consumer Services, Daniel Makata, said over K8 million will be won by soccer fans in the 2017 season with the ultimate winner carting home K1.5 million.
“The promotion will be interactive in nature. Zampira will engage soccer fans directly through predicting weekly results and the season’s champion to the number 1515. Once again, the stage is set for TNM to share the excitement of the new Super League season with the fans,” Makata explained.
He said the promotion recognises the role of soccer fans in the success of football in the country.
Makata said during the initial 10-year sponsorship of the league, TNM gave the fans the opportunity to contribute towards the sustainable running of their clubs through the Sapota Mapeto promotion.
“This is because TNM considers fans as important stakeholders in its efforts to develop football standards in Malawi. The introduction of Zampira is a continuation of our engagement with the football fan base across the country. With only K50 per SMS, soccer fans have a chance to win millions,” Makata pointed out.
He said the promotion will raise excitement among soccer fans and give them the freedom and power to bet on results while standing a chance to win big cash prizes.
Makata described the promotion as a game changer since apart from predicting results, customers will also be receiving important updates on the progress of the league.
“To participate in the draw, subscribers are required to send an SMS of their prediction to code 1515. The promotion draws will be conducted on weekly and monthly intervals before the grand draw at the end of the season,” Makata said.
Prediction of the league champions is currently underway and ends next month. To enter the prediction contest, customers are required to send ‘2017 winners and name’ to 1515.
Weekly prizes will be given out in the ranges of K50,000 weekly and K100,000 every month ahead of the grand prize winner.
Two lucky fans who will predict the champions of the current season will walk away with K250,000 each at the end of the season.
TNM also unveiled seasoned stars, Fischer Kondowe (Nyasa Big Bullets) and Joseph Kamwendo (Be Forward Wanderers), as the promotion’s ambassadors on behalf of all Super League players
