Sponsors of the elite league, TNM, have left stakeholders in suspense after disclosing that the company is reviewing the just ended TNM Super League season.
TNM plc acting Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Gowera clarified that last year firm extended its sponsorship by a year due to economic conditions.
“One year was because of the current economic situation. Currently, we are reviewing [the sponsorship and season] and we have already started meetings.
“We will be coming back to the nation and the football fraternity at large to explain the way forward with regards to the sponsorship,” he said.
Nevertheless, Gowera said they were impressed with the just ended season as there were no major acts of violence.
Super League of Malawi President Tiya Somba Banda was optimistic that TNM will continue bankrolling the league.
“It was a successful season and we strongly believe that TNM will continue supporting the league,” he said.
In their last game of the season, Bullets defeated Dedza Dynamos 2-1 to amass a record of 73 points beating the tally of 71 points they set in 2018.
