TNM tree planting goes to Neno, Mulanje
TNM has reaffirmed its commitment to assist government in reforestation initiatives.
This was said last week when the company planted 4,000 and 2,500 trees in Neno and Mulanje respectively.
TNM annually undertakes tree planting exercises in line with one of its CSR policy pillars that strive to create sustainable environment.
Speaking when the company planted 4,000 trees in the area of senior chief Simon in Neno, TNM Head of region (south) Francis Mwamadi said the company is committed to addressing deforestation in Malawi through its green initiative.
“We are here today in Neno which is one of districts waste affected by deforestation,” Mwamadi said.
In his remarks, Neno District Forestry Officer, Emmanuel Ngwangwa, thanked TNM for considering Neno in this year’s tree planting exercise.
