SALIJENI—Each one of us is made to bring about change

Toastmaster, trainer and marketer Robert Salijeni has published his debut book titled Finding You Amidst Chaos.

Salijeni said yesterday he was happy to have published his first book.

“My book title is Finding You Amidst Chaos and its subtitle is ‘How to Question Everything, Learn Continuously and Hustle Hard to Achieve Your Dream,” he said.

Salijeni said he was compelled to write the book to assist people live a focused life and also make them understand that within him / herself is unlimited power to make him/her live life to the fullest.

“We are living in a world full of noise, digital and physical, we are busy comparing ourselves with others. We wish we were someone else or want to be like someone instead of appreciating who we really are,” he said.

Salijeni said, with this negativity all around us, his book is there to assist people discover themselves, and having become self-aware, live a life intended for them.

“To bring back sanity in the reader and help him/her discover and appreciate him/ herself, I have reminded the reader of the importance of having to find oneself a purpose, why do I live?” he said.

Salijeni also said that, through the book, the reader is encouraged to engage in personal self-improvement through continuous learning to remain relevant in these turbulent times.

“Not only is continuous learning the aspect of life to be looked at, time is a resource most abused by us, people. It’s imperative that we assess ourselves to find out how we do manage our time since once we are gone, it can never be reclaimed,” he said.

In the book, Salijeni has also journeyed with the reader in realising the importance of self-worth, appreciating oneself the way one is, reminding him/her of the need of values and learning goal-setting to live a purposeful life.

“I have also tapped into how thoughts become habits and their impact on the reader’s performance and interaction with others, questions play a great role in life, yet we seem to lose the need to ask questions, we now take everything for granted,” he said.

Salijeni said his fellow toastmaster, Grant Senzani, having heard his personal story, inspired him to write this book.

“I felt that I have a story that I believe will assist other people appreciate themselves and live their life fully. Each one of us is made to bring about change in other people’s lives yet we live as if we are headless chickens without a sense of direction,” he said.

Salijeni said he is looking forward to write more books.

The book selling at K13,500 has been published by Golden Goose Institute Limited in South Africa.
