People who are yet-to-be identified petrol-bombed a vehicle belonging to Tobacco Commission (TC) Sunday.
TC Chief Executive Officer Kaisi Sadala confirmed the development. He said the vehicle, a twin cab registration number 18SC40, was parked at the commission’s head offices in Kanengo, Lilongwe.
“I got a report around 2am indicating that some criminals came to our premises and burnt one of the vehicles. So far we have [reported to] police who are investigating and taking details about the incident.
“We have no idea of who might have done this and with what motive,” he said
Recently, the country has witnessed an increase in cases of petrol bomb attacks. For instance, some unidentified people petrol- bombed the house of leader of Human Rights Defenders Coalition Timothy Mtambo as well as Malawi Congress Party offices in the Southern Region, among others.
