Total awards Poly students

Total Malawi Limited has reiterated its commitment to support efforts to develop human resources through awarding and offering employment to students from the University of Malawi and other colleges.

Total Malawi Managing Director Seggie Kistasamy made the pledge during a ceremony to award top students at the Malawi Polytechnic, a constituent college of the University of Malawi.

Kistasamy said Total is committed to change the world and give back to communities where it does business as evidenced by its awards programme which has been running for the past 45 years.

“The programme has continued to evolve over the years and we are determined not to abandon the programme. Our programme does not just focus on incentives but to develop careers,” he said.

Former recipient of the awards and guest of honour at the event Vizenge Kumwenda said Total had shown great commitment to the programme despite the challenging economic times which would have easily justified discontinuation of the programme.

Kumwenda urged the recipients to make the best of the awards.

“You have the capacity to excel and contribute to the development of the country. Take the achievement to impact the world,” he said.

Since 1971, Total has been giving out merit awards to deserving students studying with the Malawi Polytechnic in recognition o f their outstanding performance.
