Total commits to road safety
Total Malawi, on Tuesday donated road safety kits and exercise books to St Kizito and Limbe Girls Primary Schools, both based in Blantyre.
Total Malawi Managing Director, Aegidia Schnepp, said Total is committed to support road safety and that the donation is part of the firm’s long-term initiative of ensuring that Malawi’s roads are safe.
She said Total had in recent years, donated similar safety cubes to various primary schools across Malawi.
“We want to ensure that our students cross the roads without any difficulties. As such, the safety cubes will help in reducing accidents involving pupils,” Schnepp said.
Rashy Transport Managing Director, Rashid Gaffar, said as a partner of Total Malawi, his firm is committed to maximum safety on the roads of Malawi.
Blantyre District Education Manager, Evelyn Mjima, thanked Total Malawi for the donation.
She said gone are the days, when pupils died on the roads due to lack of safety equipment.
“We believe pupils must travel safely to and from schools. As such, we are very thankful to Total Malawi for the donation,” Mjima said.
