A Toyota Sienta is up for grabs in ‘Kuipatsa Moto Flames’ fundraising initiative.
This was announced Monday when Football Association of Malawi (Fam)’s Flames Resource Mobilisation taskforce launched the second phase of the fundraising campaign at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
The taskforce’s publicity secretary Tulipo Mwenelupembe said, in the promotion, a participant will be required to enter by sending a text worth K50 to stand a chance of winning weekly prizes of five Flames replica jerseys and monthly prizes of three deep freezers.
Mwenelupembe said they were targeting K60 million in the promotion, whose grand draw will take place on December 30 when the big winner will go home with a Toyota Sienta.
“We would like to call on the general public to patronise this promotion as they are assured of weekly and monthly prizes as well as the grand prize of a Toyota Sienta. We are transparent as a separate committee detached from Fam,” he said.
A member of the taskforce Stain Singo was hopeful that they would raise over K300 million to enable the Flames to prepare thoroughly for the tournament.
“With all these incentives, we are hopeful people will support us and their national team by donating money through the prescribed short code. We just had a successful golf tournament,” said Singo, who is also the Chief Executive Officer for Smile Life Insurance.
The taskforce has embarked on the initiative to generate money for the Malawi National Football Team ahead of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.
To enter the promotion, subscribers need to send a short code of *3089# on both Airtel and TNM networks.
