Trace to premiere Tay Grin’s Kanda

Artist Limbani Kalilani commonly known as Tay Grin on Friday met top management of Trace on the prospects of premiering his Kanda music video on its popular channel.

Tay Grin said having finalised the music video he thought of engaging Trace so that they screen Kanda, which he said has received an overwhelming response from the people.

This is a romantic song that speaks volumes of a woman’s beauty which Tay Grin collaborated with Nigeria’s Orezi and Sonye of the Tsika Msungwana fame.

“Yes I can tell you that my visit to Trace was successful and I should say that I met top management. I am happy to say that we have struck a deal and Kanda will be premiered exclusively on Trace channel,” he said.

Tay Grin, who recently also soared with the hit Chipapapa which he collaborated with another Nigerian star 2Baba formerly 2Face said the deal means that Trace will premiere the music video before any channel and that they will promote it intensely on all their platforms.

“This just shows that we have a good relationship and we will even work together in future projects. Kanda will premiere in a week,” said the artist.

He said that his Chipapapa hit went to number two on the African charts and that the move with Trace just indicates that they are aware of his music and ability as an artist.

“They know what Kanda has done so far and this is material they can promote on their platform. It is an African sound that is original and not a copy of the Western sounds, it’s authentic they love that,” Tay Grin said.

Despite receiving criticism from some quarters that he is not up to scratch with music, Tay Grin has played his cards right using the available resources he has to propel his music to the top.

He said when he released Chipapapa earlier this year that more was to come as he plans to release a new album.

“People should look forward to this amazing Kanda video which we shot in South Africa. Let me also announce that I will be releasing a brand new song called Sugar Mummy with Sonye featuring Roberto from Zambia,” Tay Grin said.
