Newly appointed Mighty Tigers Coach Trevor Kajawa has vowed to sharpen the team’s claws to return to winning ways in the TNM Super League.
Kajawa, having trained the team for the first time, said he was happy with the crop of the players at Tigers.
“I have seen that the club has got good quality players. It was just unfortunate that things were not going well with them. I have challenged the boys to win the first three matches to prove that they are worth playing in the elite league,” said the coach who has replaced fired Rodgers Yasin.
Tigers have lost five consecutive matches and are on position 15 with four points from seven matches.
The Kau-Kau outfit have won and drawn once each.
Last week, Tigers lost 0-1 to Ekwendeni Hammers at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre before firing Yasin who lamented poor player welfare.
Kajawa was appointed as Tigers coach last week replacing Yasin, who was fired due to the club’s poor start to the 2020/21 season.
The Caf-A Licence holder’s first assignment will be on Sunday when facing fellow strugglers Be Forward Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium.
