Trevor Kajawa, Mighty Tigers in deal extension talks

Mighty Tigers are confident coach Trevor Kajawa will sign a new long-term contract, having helped the Kau-Kau outfit dodge TNM Super League relegation last season.

Kajawa joined Tigers midway through the season as the team was stuck in the relegation zone but he defied odds to escape the chop.

Tigers Chairperson Sydney Chikoti said discussions with Kajawa were on going ahead of the season.

“We are not in a rush as he already reported for work. Contractual issues are like that because we have to listen to his demands and make the right offer. Otherwise, we hope he will sign the contract once the discussions are Through,” he said.

Kajawa said he was also not rushing to put pen to paper.

“Initially, I joined Tigers to complete the season and the mission was accomplished. I am still coaching the side even though discussions are underway,” he said.

The former Ntopwa FC coach said he was building a side to challenge for trophies.

“The good thing with Tigers is that we like to identify and nurture talent to have a strong side,” he said.
