Organisers of the annual free-of-charge Tumaini Festival which is held at Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Dowa have announced that the event will be held on November 6 and 7 2020.
Organisers of the festival posted on their Facebook page that they were excited to bring back the festival.
“Excited for the new decade!!! We can’t wait to host you again this year on 6 & 7 November! The Tumaini journey has started,” Tumaini Festival Founder Menes la Plume said.
Menes said since they started the festival in 2014, which is aimed at promoting arts and culture and also uniting people, they have maintained their dates.
Last year the two-day festival was held on November 1 and 2 but it ended up clashing with Sand Music Festival held at Kabumba Hotel in Salima.
The festival attracted a huge audience and saw performances from several acts.
Impakt Events, which runs Sand Music Festival, announced recently that the festival will this year be held October 30 to November 1 2020.
Impakt Events Director, Lucius Banda, also said the festival will not take place at Kabumba Hotel in Salima but rather they would be moving to their original home – Sunbird Livingstonia in the same district.
With Lake of Stars Festival announcing that it will not take place this year, people will this year look forward to Blantyre Arts Festival which takes place in October, Sand Music and Tumaini.
