CDH Investment Bank (CDHIB) conducted its first Katamu kani ndi CDHIB Smart Savers Account promotion draw which saw two lucky customers, Yona Kalumbu, a resident of Blantyre, and Mike Mbewe from Lilongwe, pocketing K250,000 each after emerging as the first prize winner of the monthly draw.
Speaking during the draw, the bank’s Chief Business Development Officer, Benison Jambo, said the promotion is achieving its goal to promote saving culture.
“Through the promotion, we have witnessed customers saving for farm inputs and school fees,” he said.
Jambo said in order to allow multiple entries, the bank has reduced the minimum deposit amount for the Smart Savers account from K500,000 to K200,000.
The campaign will run for four months from September to December. The Smart Savers Account offers attractive interest rates, currently at 13 percent, and it does not have ledger fees. It also offers online banking services and loans from the account are accessible the same day.
In an earlier interview, CDHIB Managing Director, Misheck Esau, said the promotion targets both existing and new customers who open and maintain a Smart Savers Account with the bank.
Esau said the promotion is part of initiatives the bank is conducting to thank customers for supporting CDHIB since it opened its doors in 2012.
