One of the players in the hospitality industry, Umodzi park, has registered a 30 percent increase in sales in the year 2017 coming from international conventions alone, the company’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Temwa Kanjadza, has said.
Kanjadza said this when the company recently hosted its customers to a bookers’ night to appreciate their loyalty to the company the year.
“We just wanted to interact with our bookers who are our main stakeholders in terms of the business that comes to Umodzi Park and the relationship has been positive,” Kanjadza said.
She described the year as wonderful for the company and the entire tourism industry, singling out international conferences that were held at the Bingu International Convention Centre that have significantly contributed to their success.
“The benefits did not only come to Umodzi Park alone but also other hospitality players operating in the city. We had an opportunity, as Malawi, to host international events, which was not the case in the past,” Kanjadza added.
She said the company plans to further improve customer experience in 2018 through interactive conferences, interactive food experiences and other innovations.
