United General Insurance launches AutoServe policy

The policy offers free anti-theft device eliminating the need for tracking device, 24/7 stolen vehicle recovery services, call centre, access to multiple reports and trip details, among others.

UGI Chief Executive Officer, Bywell Chiwoni, said during the launch in Blantyre, the car should be valued at above K20 million or K15 million if it is a fleet of more than 10 vehicles.

“With AutoServe, you are covered for death or bodily injury caused by you or anyone using your car to other road users for free up to K7 million with further cover at an additional cost of 0.2 percent. This is besides the cost of alternative transport following loss of using your car of up to K250,000 per accident,”said Chiwoni.

He added that the policy also offers liability to third parties for their car loss of use of up to K500,000 with further cover at an additional cost of 2.5 percent.

“Free towing to the nearest repair or place of safety following the accident is also covered for in the policy. Theft and highjacking of the car without you contributing towards replacement cost,” said Chiwoni.

According to Chiwoni, the policy also covers medical expenses for the driver and passengers not carried for hire and reward up to K100, 000 per person and maximum K500,000 and complementary free car washes every quarter.

UGI has partnered Ctrack in this policy. In his remarks, Chief Executive Officer for Ctrack Morne Combrink said that this shows that they have trust in policies UGI offers.
