Urban artist IKK seeks to grow his music
Urban artist IKK real name Ishmael Kachali has said he wants to do more in music now that he has started working with top producers.
The musician was in Nigeria last year where he linked up with top producers and ended up producing a single titled ‘Fire’ which he collaborated with Bucci.
The youthful musician said he is happy that the song is currently enjoying airplay and that it has received an overwhelming response.
“I have also released a music video for the song which people can access on malawimusic.com and nyimbozathu.com,” he said.
The artist added: “I just need to be patient for now but doors have started opening. I am happy with the way things are trending as far as my music is concerned. I am getting the much needed experience and soon or later I should be talking about an album.”
IKK produced a mixtape in 2011 titled The Future Is Now before shifting to producing singles.
“It’s not easy to produce an album you need more time. It’s easier to produce singles because you concentrate and this is why I have restricted myself to singles for now,” said the artist.
He has several singles to his credit and they include ‘Pambuto’ which he collaborated with Nepman, ‘Dolo wa Zonse,’ which he collaborated with Black Jak, Daredevils and Slim and ‘Sindiyimva,’ which he featured Young Luv.
He also has a song titled ‘Love You Mama,’ which he featured Truemale and Yesaya.
