United States of America (USA) Christian pop rock band founded by Joshua Havens and Matt Fuqua, The Afters, will perform in the country this month, sharing the stage with Faith Mussa and Paul Kachala.
A press statement from Live Love Malawi says The Afters and The Grove Band are scheduled to hold three free concerts in the country, with the first performance at Crossroads Hotel Auditorium in Lilongwe on June 18 followed by an open ground concert at African Bible College ground the following day, with the last show at Blantyre Baptist Church on June 21.
Havens, who is The Afters and The Grove Band leader, has since expressed excitement to perform in the country for the first time and has since promised a full live Christian worship experience to the attendees.
“We are massively excited to come and do these shows in Malawi and I believe we are going to have a great and special time,” he said.
The group’s song ‘Never Going Back to OK’ was the most-played song on R&R magazine’s Christian CHR chart for 2008.
Faith, who is expected to perform in Spain next month, said he was looking forward to the three concerts.
“This will be my first time to share the stage with The Afters. I am ready,” the ‘Mdidi’ star said.
Live Love Malawi is a non-profit organisation involved in holistic community transformation in various parts of the country.
Live Love Country Director Blessings Chibambo said the show will provide a platform for the organisation to showcase what they are doing.
