Victoria Bureau opens new branch
In a quest to enhance its foreign exchange and money transfer service business, one of the players on the forex market, Victoria Forex Bureau, has opened a new shop in Dowa District.
Branch Manager for the bureau, Francis Renso, said the move was a response to a request from their customers in Dowa who, in the past, had to travel to Lilongwe to access their services.
He pointed out that in the few weeks the branch has been operational, they have received tremendous support from the customers, which has increased their expectations for returns in the first quarter of the year.
“We have opened this branch to carter for people around Mponela and some parts of Ntchisi and Kasungu because our customers had to travel more than 100 kilometers just to access our services in Lilongwe so, we are trying to shorten the distance,” Renso said.
He pointed out that the branch will be conducting all services that the company offers from foreign exchange transactions to money transfers as, they are currently enjoying a partnership with Western Union, Money Gram, Mukuru and Hello Paisa.
Renso further said the company is on an expansion drive, where they plan to open similar shops in other parts of the central region as part of growing their business.
“Our aim is to increase our presence and reach out to the people that require the services that we provide. So, we will continue opening branches even in remote areas as long as such communities require money transfer or foreign exchange services” Renso added.
He, however, said business for the bureau was slow in 2017 owing to the performance of the kwacha but picked up on the money transfer services.
