Vincent Nyangulu’s return boosts Wanderers

TNM Super league leaders Be Forward Wanderers have received a timely boost ahead of the Blantyre derby following the return of their striker Vincent Nyangulu from injury.
Wanderers, who lead the standings with 44 points from 20 games, cannot afford a slip-up against second-placed Nyasa Big Bullets, who have 41 points from 19 games, in this Kamuzu Stadium game on Saturday.
Nyangulu picked a foot injury in training towards the end of the first round in August.
The injury forced the former Masters Security FC top scorer to miss part of the first round and the second round opening matches.
Nyangulu returned on the pitch on Tuesday. Before picking the injury, Nyangulu was among the Nomads leading scorers alongside Francis Mkonda and Babatunde Adepoju.
Wanderer’s Team Manager, Victor Maunde, described Nyangulu’s return as morale-booster as they have been struggling to score.
“Nyangulu was undergoing physiotherapy for the past two weeks. His return is really a motivation to the team. We featured him in most of our first-round games. We are now waiting for an approval from the medical team if we can feature him on Saturday,” Maunde said.
Nyangulu joined Wanderers from Masters earlier this year alongside Babatunde and Mkonda.
In the first round, Nyangulu partnered Babatunde upfront and helped the club to score more goals.
In Nyangulu’s absence, Batatunde, who is the league’s leading scorer with 14, has struggled to score.
Last week, Wanderers came from behind to beat Mzuni FC 2-1 before being held to a goalless draw by Moyale Barracks FC at Mzuzu Stadium.
