Vote for Peter Mutharika—Atupele

By Lesson Masiano:
The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and United Democratic Front (UDF) alliance runningmate, Atupele Muluzi, has urged people in Nsanje District to rally behind President Peter Mutharika (APM) and protect his name ahead of the fresh polls.
“Let us all hold hands to protect the name of APM who is the most peaceful and tolerant President,” Muluzi said to a gathered crowd at Nsanje Boma.
Ahead of the presidential polls, the young Muluzi continues to drum up support for DPP and UDF Alliance and Friday, together with DPP governor for the Southern Region, Charles Mchacha, Trade and Industry Minister Salim Bagus pleaded with the electorate to support the alliance for continued development of the Lower Shire.
“The DPP administration will start a stadium project, expand telecentre facilities, and construction of Youth Technical College,” he said.
Since presentation of nomination papers by President Mutharika on May 7, Muluzi has taken it upon himself to woo voters through whistle stop tours. Mutharika is yet to address a rally for the alliance.
In Nsanje, as early as 9 am, both DPP and UDF diehards, clad in their party colours, lined up along the Nsanje- Marka road to welcome the two political bedfellows to the Lower Shire.
At stake in Nsanje are 145, 528 registered voters, according to Malawi Electoral Commission captured data.
