Outgoing Football Association of Malawi (Fam) president, Walter Nyamilandu, has shifted the launch of his manifesto from Blantyre to Lilongwe in order to take part in presidential debate on Saturday in the Capital City.
Nyamilandu was expected to launch the manifesto at College of Medicine in Blantyre on Saturday but has had a sudden change of heart after accepting to take part in presidential debate.
Fam is expected to hold an elective general assembly on December 12 in Mangochi.
According to his ally, Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) treasurer Daudi Mtanthiko, Nyamilandu will launch the manifesto at Capital Hotel on Saturday.
“The president has honoured an invitation that he has received to participate in a debate which has been organized by Zodiak in Lilongwe on the same Saturday. He also has a number of engagements to do in the same city. It is for these reasons that the launch has been shifted to Lilongwe from College of Medicine Blantyre. All stakeholders are welcome to attend the launch,” said Mtanthiko who will also contest as an executive member from Fam elections.
Another presidential candidate Wilkins Mijiga has also confirmed to take part in the debate saying it was important for the nation to understand his vision.
“Of course I have been invited and I will use it as an opportunity to share what I have in store,” he said.
It is not known whether another presidential candidate Willy Yabwanya Phiri will take part in the presidential debate.
