Legendary musician Wambali Mkandawire featured on Africa Magic showcase 151 on the subject Savour the Flavour of Africa.
The one-hour programme is hosted by Gena West with the title of A Different View with Gena West.
This is an inspirational talk show that aims to depict Africa and Africans in a positive way.
In the programme Wambali’s song ‘Nkhujipeleka’ was played.
Asked why he came up with the song, Wambali said ‘Nkhujipeleka’ was a spiritual
and dedication song where he is surrendering himself to God being the maker of heaven and Earth.
West discussed several things with Wambali including his music.
The programme also saw West and Wambali sample some food.
The Nigerian presenter described Wambali as a legend and that his music has inspired many people.
Wambali, who has several albums to his credit revealed that he is working very hard to set up an annual music school in Malawi.
“This is a school where I would be able to discuss more about music,” he said.
At 64, Wambali told West that he takes time to exercise to keep his body physically fit.
Wambali said his granny was very influential in his music life.
The artist also heaped praise on Erik Paliani, who he said was one of the best musicians the country has ever produced.
And recently Paliani said he was working on having Wambali on stage to do music together.
Although he has been out of the stage for some time, Wambali has a new jazz album titled Calabrash Breath.
