Wanderers Club changing hands

Be Forward Wanderers Executive Committee is jointly running the operations of Wanderers Club House with the trustees as part of the transition process.

Wanderers General Secretary Victor Maunde said the idea was to empower the executive committee with skills to run the club house as an income generating venture.


“It is an on-going process but for now it is us [Wanderers executive committee] and the trustees running the club house. We are exploring ways to generate a lot of income from this venture,” he said.

The club house has a 300 capacity-hall, high performance gym, restaurant and a bar.

Wanderers Supporters General Secretary Samuel Mponda said it was a welcome development and asked the club’s supporters, football fans and the general public to patronise.


“Everyone is free to patronise Wanderers Club House. They will not be chased away. The facilities and services have been improved,” he said.

Mponda said revenue generated from the club house would go towards the running of the team.

Meanwhile, the supporters committee held elections for Phalombe District subcommittee (Chambe Zone) last week.

Patrick Liwonde was elected the zone’s chairperson during the elections, which Senior Chief Nkanda graced
