Civil Sporting Club are ready to sell their attacker Righteous Banda, but at the right price of K7 million.
Details have emerged that the talented midfielder is on the verge of signing for Nyasa Big Bullets.
Civil General Secretary, Ronald Chiwaula, confirmed yesterday that the club granted Bullets permission to speak to the player ahead of the transfer.
“If he agrees to personal terms then we will come up with a price for the player. We do not want to stand in players’ way, but we always give them advice before they make decisions,” Chiwaula said.
According to our findings, Bullets have offered a player plus cash to persuade Civil to sell Banda.
Bullets are reportedly ready to offer Civil K4.5 million and winger MacFarlane Mgwira as part of the deal. But Civil want K7 million.
Banda’s Manager, Jimmy Linje, confirmed that discussions with Bullets were at an advanced stage.
“The deal might be completed this week,” said Linje, who also manages Blue Eagles striker Mphatso Philimon, another Bullets’ target.
Bullets acting General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, was not readily available for a comment yesterday.
Banda, who can play in both wings, was the main man for Civil in the just-ended season when he scored vital goals.
During Civil gala awards held over the weekend, Banda was named the club’s Player of the Season, and received K150,000.
Raphael Phiri, who finished as Civil top goal scorer with 12 goals, received K100,000 whereas Lawrence Chazia and Tione Tembo got K100,000 each for being the most disciplined players.
