Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Technical Director (TD) Mark Harrison is now coach following the redeployment of Alex Ngwira as scouting manager.

Wanderers President Thom Mpinganjira announced the changes Wednesday after meeting Ngwira and legal adviser Chancy Gondwe, who doubles as company secretary.

Apparently, Ngwira has received all his terminal benefits, including the November salary and notice pay for December.

Mpinganjira told Ngwira that the club wants to tap from his expertise.

“As it is, we are not parting ways with you. We have simply given you another assignment where we feel you can add value. You will be working jointly with the TD in scouting players for the team,” Mpinganjira said in his address to Ngwira.

He said they also need to act swiftly in hiring chief executive officer and chief accountant.

“We are no longer a community team; so, to achieve all our plans, we need to establish a fully-fledged secretariat with qualified personnel,” Mpinganjira said.

According to the new arrangement, Ngwira will be responsible for scouting players for Wanderers and its reserve and youth sides.

Earlier on, Ngwira apologised for putting the club into disrepute over a leaked audio where he accused Harrison of interference.

“I am really sorry for my conduct. I should not have commented in any way to the supporters who were demanding answers.

“Nevertheless, I am grateful that I have been given another role to continue working for Wanderers. It is my wish to see the club prosper according to your [Mpinganjira] vision,” he said to Mpinganjira.

Ngwira is expected to start working in his new role after the current season.

Gondwe asked the Wanderers family to shift focus from the changes and channel their energy towards the Airtel Top 8 Cup return match against Mafco.

“We have big plans for the team. This is why you are seeing some changes. All over the world, clubs have scouts. So this is a move in the right direction and there are no issues.

“As the president explained, we will be finalising the recruitment of a chief executive officer very soon,” he said.
