Wanderers sign ex-Silver duo

Be Forward Wanderers have signed Nigerian defender Yinusa Sherrif and Ghanaian striker Michael Tetteh on one-year deals.
Both Sherrif and Tetteh were released at Silver Strikers after Zambian coach Daniel Kabwe deemed them surplus to requirements. The two players signed the deals on Saturday and were expected to travel to Blantyre Sunday to finalise personal terms.
Wanderers General Secretary Victor Maunde Sunday confirmed the signing of the two players.
“We know the capabilities of Sherrif and Tetteh so we are very happy to have them in our team. We believe that they will add competition to the team as we target to win the league and other cups,” Maunde said.
Sherrif will compete for a starting place against Bongani Kaipa, Lughano Kayira, Eric Atsigah and Peter Cholopi at the back whereas Tetteh will be competing against Vincent Nyangulu, Peter Wadabwa, Mischeck Bottoman and Babatunde Adepoju.
In a separate interview, Sherrif confirmed that he had agreed to join the Lali- Lubani outfit.
“I am now a Wanderers player and I am very happy to be part of such as big club. I want to win more trophies with Wanderers,” he said.
On a good day, Sherriff can be reliable as he is so solid at the back. He has ability to contain pressure from the opposing team and bring stability to the back.
On Tetteh’s part, he is a natural goal poacher having scored 11 goals in the league and six goals in other cups last season. Tetteh spent three seasons at Silver and helped the club to win the Airtel Top 8 Cup twice in three years.
