Malawi Under-17 National Football Team received a warm welcome on Tuesday at Chileka Airport upon arrival from Mauritius, where they won bronze medal for Cosafa Youth Championship.
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) officials, led by executive committee member, Daud Mtanthiko, and General Secretary, Suzgo Nyirenda, welcomed the team at the airport.
Mtanthiko congratulated the boys on winning bronze and pledged to ensure that the team continues playing friendly and competitive matches.
“They have performed well beyond our expectations. We will do all we can to keep the team together,” Mtanthiko said.
The Junior Flames finished on third place after defeating their Kenyan counterparts 2-0 on Sunday.
