We want to promote local talent, says Mr Entertainer

Entertainers Promotions boss Jai Banda popularly known as Mr Entertainer has said they want to see to it that local talent is given massive exposure hence bringing the Sound and Light Concert.

The Sound and Light Concert will be held at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima from September 5 to September 6.

“Our local talent does not have enough platforms to showcase their talent and so this is why we decided to put together this Sound and Light Concert. Again we want through this concert to give people maximum entertainment, we want families to come and have fun,” said Jai.

Through his Entertainers Promotions, Jai has helped promote several artists in the country including late Bright Livewire Nkhata.

“I just have passion for arts nothing else, at the moment I want to retire and leave everything in the hands of my son. Through this concert we also want to show that as Malawians we are capable of holding biggest events, we have the lights, the stage, the sound, the bubbles and the smoke,” said Jai.

Some of the artists expected to perform at this concert include Black Missionaries, Anthony Makondetsa, Great Angels Choir, Skeffa Chimoto and Real Sounds, Piksy, Dan Lu and Rockers Band, Maskal, Police Orchestra, Kamuzu Barracks Singers, Mulangeni Sounds, Gwamba, Lulu and 4 Tees Disco.

Meanwhile Edgar ndi Davis Band have also announced that they will be part of the concert.

“Jai Banda has been there for the arts industry, he has promoted lots of musicians and he is always eager to help. This is why we have decided to be part of this concert just to support something done by our fellow Malawian,” said the groups lead vocalists Edgar Kachere and Davis Njobvu.

The duo said it is only through supporting such events that the creative industry can grow.

“These are the events that need to be supported because they are giving an opportunity to artists to share the stage, show their talent and interact. So we are happy to be associated with this concert,” said Edgar and Davis.

Some of the companies that are supporting the event include Airtel Malawi, Zodiak Broadcasting Station, Carlsberg Malawi, Capital FM and Blockbuster Mega Store.
