Gospel musician Wendy Harawa will fly the country’s flag at the One Africa Music Festival in Dubai.
The one week showdown starts on November 22 and ends on November 28.
The poster of the event indicates that One Africa Music Festival will start with a pre-party on a yacht on November 22, Pool Party on November 23, Business Summit on November 24 and Global Comedy Festival, and then Champagne Luncheon and Praise Fest on November 25.
One Africa Music Fest and after-party will follow on November 26.
Wendy, who has been vibrant lately by collaborating with artists such as Guardian Angel from Kenya and Levixone from Uganda, described the stage as huge with several other renowned musicians set to perform.
“This is a huge stage and mostly all about promoting arts all around the world with a focus on art from Africa. One Africa Music Festival is an event that happens in different parts of the world,” she said.
The musician behind songs such as ‘Mundisunge Ndinu’, hailed the owner of One Africa Festival Paul Okoye better known as Paulo for recognising and giving her an opportunity to perform at One Africa Music Festival.
“I will perform on the fourth day of the festival which is the Soul Praise Day. I am excited because this is the first time Malawi will be represented at this festival and being the first Malawian artist to perform in Dubai. I feel honoured,” she said.
Wendy added that this is a very big opportunity for artists in that they get to network.
“Apart from the performances, these stages also bring artists together to share ideas. It’s a big stage because we will also have promoters from different countries and the corporate world,” she said.
Wendy said the opportunity also proves to her that she is moving in the right direction in serving God and ministering the gospel through music.
Some of the artists billed to perform at this feast include D’Banj and Flavour.
Meanwhile, musician Onesimus is also expected to perform at the Diamond Platnumz Live in Gambia concert at Independence Stadium on December 18.
