Will Miracle mirror amazing Grace Chinga on Sunday?

Former Minister of Sports Grace Chiumia described Miracle Chinga as a miracle when she stunned the hundreds of people that attended her mother’s funeral service at Robins Park in Blantyre in March this year having offered a razor sharp and brave performance.

But this was a short performance and now this Sunday Miracle has a huge mountain to climb as she gets down to the stage to launch her mother’s album Esther at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.

Miracle’s mother Grace was no ordinary singer, she was a star and she blessed many souls with her mature songs and amazing performances and her death in March left the nation in pain.

But Miracle is determined to continue her mother’s music journey and show that her mother’s talent still lives in her.

She has been part of the backing team for her mother during several performances but now she will play the lead singer.

The past weeks has seen organisers putting her on posters that she would be part of curtainraisers during shows, but she never made it and she put it clear that her first outing would be her mother’s album launch.

Now the wait is over and Miracle, who is now 17 -years old, has said people should fasten their seat belts and brace for the best on Sunday.

“I am ready for the launch and people should not doubt me. Let me not say much. All I am asking is people should come in their large numbers and celebrate the music of my mother. All the songs in Esther were composed by my mother and apart from performing these new songs I will also perform songs from previous albums,” she said.

Miracle further added that she will perform live and that people will see no difference from what her mother was doing.

Some of the songs in the 11-track album people will sample on the day include Linga Langa, Madalitso, Ondikonda, Ndzaulula, Alikuti, Kankhira Kwakuya, Ngakhale Ndiyenda, Chikondi Chotere, Tikayenda Bwino and Tikupatsani Ulemu.

Ethel Kamwendo Banda, Thoko Suya, King James Phiri, Phales Mang’anda, Eliza Mponya and Thocco Katimba are some of the artists set to spice up the launch.

“We will start in time. I have been having intensive rehearsals and on the day people will be blessed,” she said.

Mang’anda, who has played a huge part in organising the launch, said Miracle was ready and people will see the best on Sunday.
