Willard Mwamaso taunts ‘young’ boxer Popo
Baghdad Boxing Promotions will host its first bout of the year, involving renowned pugilist Felix Mwamaso and Mwai Popo at Obrigado Leisure Park in Mzuzu on May 13.
Baghdad Managing Director, Willard Mwamulima, confirmed the non-title professional bout.
“We hope that this would be massive because we have taken time without hosting a bout to entertain Mzuzu residents. Both boxers are hungry for the fight,” Mwamulima said.
He said there would also be a curtain raiser between Mwayi Kamanga and Lewis Nkhata at the same venue.
However, Mwamaso has underrated his opponent, describing the bout as a mere sparring session ahead of his other fight against Simeon Cheta on June 3 at M1 Centrepoint in Lilongwe.
“He is too young. I can’t lose to him. I will fight him for the mere fact that he has challenged me,” Mwamaso said.
Popo has since advised Mwamaso to learn from biblical David who defeated Goliath.
