Delisha Holdings on Monday presented air tickets to boxer Wilson Masamba and his trainer-brother, John, for their trip to Tanzania ahead of a non-title bout against Shomali Milundi scheduled for Saturday.
Wilson and Milundi will square up in a main supporting bout.
After presenting the tickets in Lilongwe, Delisha Holdings (Global Partners Group), Chief Executive Officer, John Milanzi, said Wilson was carrying Malawi’s flag, hence their support.
“He is a good boxer and we believe that he will perform according to our expectations in Tanzania. We are committed to supporting boxers in the country,” Milanzi said.
“Let me appeal to the private sector to support boxers so that they should realise their dreams.”
Heading into the bout, Masamba is confident in his performance, having defeated Zimbabwean, Lawrence Moyo, in Harare recently.
“It is a morale booster for me. I want to assure Malawians that I will work hard. I have prepared well for the bout,” said Wilson, who boasts of 29 victories and 10 losses in 39 bouts.
John was also confident in the performance of his brother.
“Although we do not know how good the opponent is, we will come back with good news,” he said.
