The team’s General Secretary, Patrick Chimimba, said they were courting organisations to help the team fulfill its assignments this season.
“We are targeting two or more corporate organisations to come in as partners and bankroll the team. We should admit that we are racing against time to put in place everything in order,” Chimimba said.
“At some point, we were thinking that we were going to play in the lower league, and then there was the play-offs issue. So, we were just working on the sidelines. However, the committee has been working underground for almost two months.”
He said they were hopeful of fulfilling Club Licensing System requirements by the end of the first round.
Wizards executive committee is headed by Ophman Kondowe with Amon Mluwira as the Vice-Chairperson while Alfred Kanjere is the Treasurer.
Wizards were relegated from the league last season after anchoring the table, but they were given a lifeline when they took part in disputed play-offs aimed at identifying a 16th team for the league.
