Wizards get fish, bonus boost
Some more fish and increased game bonuses could, after all, help turn the corner for TNM Super League table anchors, Fisd Wizards.
Wizards have increased players’ bonuses ahead of their league second round match against Silver Strikers at Kalulu Stadium on Sunday.
The club’s chairperson, Mike Tembo, Thursday said the increase was aimed at boosting the players’ morale.
“We have raised the game bonuses from K15, 000 to K20, 000 to motivate the boys to continue from where they left when we drew against them. We know Silver have new coaches, but with added motivation to the boys, it should give them an extra strength to beat Silver,” Tembo said.
Meanwhile, Lake Harvest Limited yesterday donated fish worth K248, 000 to the club.
Making the donation at Fisd offices in Lilongwe, Lake Harvest Limited, operations manager, Charles Nkhoma, said they donated the fish because footballers need nutritious foods.
“As Lake Harvest Limited, we believe that football players need a good diet to perform well on the pitch. It is our hope that Wizards players will to enjoy eating the fish as they will be preparing for their games,” said Nkhoma.
Tembo thanked Lake Harvest for the donation and promised that the team will survive in the league.
Wizards anchor the Super League table with 14 points from 18 games. Wizards beat Airborne Rangers 2-0 on Sunday for the rookies only second win of the season.
