Women in the country have been encouraged to exercise high commitment in work and business apart from being warriors in prayer for the development of the country.
The call by the Vice Chancellor of the Malawi University of Science and Technology (Must) Address Malata emphasized that women should also rise up against odds by being business oriented.
Malata made the remarks in Mzuzu during a Mzuzu Professional and Business Women Forum organized by the Assemblies of God.
She said it is worrying that most women in Malawi are reduced to house wives subjecting them to various forms of abuse.
”We want to move these women, and we have had these meetings in Lilongwe and Blantyre and now here, so that these professional women can be active in ministry that God can use them wherever they are ,whether they are working or they are doing their businesses in public and private sector they should trust God,” Malata said.
Commenting on the same another speaker during the women conference Dr Queen Dube said it is high time women come out of a cocoon and make a difference to the society.
Dube, a consultant pediatrician and clinical epidemiologist said globally women face a lot of challenges which could be better tackled if they rise up to the occasion.
“We are calling upon every woman in Malawi that God created us with a purpose, so we are looking forward to women rising up in all sectors of life,in business arena women rise up , in academics women rise up, professional career we also say women rise up, we want to see a lot of women MPs and even in engineering companies,” Dube said.
This was a third Professional and Business Women Forum organized by the Assemblies of God as similar conferences were done in Lilongwe and Blantyre.
