This weekend has so much in terms of entertainment in the country and one of the activities is that of Lilongwe-based gospel group Women of Faith who are launching their debut album Zizakhala Bwino.

Made up of five members, the seven-track album will be launched at Area 25, Sector 7 Assemblies of God, in Lilongwe.

The group’s chairperson Mayankho Ngwira said they want to use the album to reach out to people with the gospel of hope and salvation.

“We are excited because this is our first album. God has been faithful and here we are ministering His words through this project. We just want to call upon people to come in large numbers and be part of this launch,” Ngwira said.

She said the title track of the album was based on the book of 1 Thessalonians where it says that “we should always rejoice in our Lord Jesus Christ”.

“The song is encouraging everyone to see the beautiful side of life struggles. We struggled a lot to produce this album. We had to dig deeper to source funds but we coordinated and worked hard through the struggles and finally the album is here,”Ngwira said.

Some of the songs people are set to sample in the album include ‘Thanthwe’, ‘Mwayenera’, ‘Tikutamandani Yesu’, ‘Amatikonda’, ‘Yesu Wathu’ and ‘Mfumu Yesu.’

The album was recorded and produced in Lilongwe by Kumbukani Kachimanga at Mwai K Studio.

Other artists spicing up the launch include Henry Masamba of ‘Chaka Chokolola’ fame, Chiyanjano Women’s Choir well known for their hit ‘Ambuye Ali Likiliki’, Ethel Maganga, Farai Chazima and Misheck Langton.

Women of Faith is under Sector 7 Assemblies of God and started in 2019.
