Semifinalists for the inaugural Football Association of Malawi (Fam) National Women’s Championship have been identified.
Blantyre Zero and Skippers have qualified for the semifinals after finishing first and second, respectively, in the competition’s Group A.
Zero, who are now under Nyasa Big Bullets management, top the group with seven points from three games while second-placed Skippers have six points.
Ntopwa lie on third position with four points while Moyale Barracks have finished their group stage matches with no point, having lost all games.
With two games remaining in Group B, Ascent Academy and DD Sunshine have already qualified for the semifinals.
Ascent lead the group with nine points whereas Sunshine are second on goal difference, having tied on points with leaders.
CY Sisters are third with three points.
The two remaining fixtures will have no impact as CY Sisters’ highest points will be six, which is not enough to surpass the top two teams.
Bangwe Super Queens have finished their four Group B matches with three points while Topik have no point with one match remaining. Topik will host CY Sisters at Mzuzu Stadium next weekend.
Currently, Ascent star Rose. Kabzere leads the scorers’ chart with seven goals while CY Sisters’ Vitumbiko Mkandawire has six goals.
Inaugural champions will receive K3 million while the runner-up will pocket K1.5 million.
