United States-based Malawi National Football Team attacking midfielder Yamikani Chester might not play for his parent club, Czech Republic side MFK Vyškov, as his three-year contract will expire this year.
The former Be Forward Wanderers attacker has been playing on loan since he signed for the Czech Republic side.
Chester’s United Kingdom-based agent James Woods- Nkhutabasa said the Flames midfielder had two offers to continue playing in America but the firm wanted to explore other opportunities.
“We do not want him to remain in America because we do believe that this is the right time for him to play at a higher level. We are still discussing with a few professional clubs in Europe, Middle East and Asia but if worse comes to the worst he will go back to America to play for one of his previous clubs,” said the Rainbow Sports representative.
Chester has played at United States League Championship sides North Carolina and presently Las Vegas Lights.
Woods-Nkhutabasa also said due to Visa constraints following the impact of Covid-19, Chester will wait until this month-end to play for another club this year.
“Currently it is a long process to get American Visa due to Covid-19. Chances are there that our client [Chester would secure a settled deal,” he said.
Chester signed for MFK Vyškov in 2018 but was loaned to North Carolina in 2019 before moving to Las Vegas Lights last year.
Following the expiry of his loan deal at Lights and the conclusion of the 2020 USL Championship, the midfielder came back for a holiday in December last year.
The Flames attacker did not enjoy game-time at Las Vegas compared to his former club North Carolina as he played eight matches out of 16 games last season.
At Las Vegas he was the club’s top goal-scorer with four goals last season.
