Yasin Osman wary of Big Bullets, Silver Striker
Be Forward Wanderers Coach, Yasin Osman, has said he hopes TNM Super League title rivals would fall along the way, as the run-in gets tough and unpredictable.
Osman’s troops top the log table with 55 points from 24 games, four points ahead of second-placed Nyasa Big Bullets and eight points in front of third-positioned Silver Strikers.
The Lali Lubani Road side is determined to win its first league title since 2006.
Osman said it was a three-horse title race involving Wanderers, Bullets and Silver.
“The competition is, obviously, among Wanderers, Bullets and Silver. The draw that Silver had [1-1 against Moyale Barracks] is an advantage to us. But that does not mean they are out of contention because if they beat Bullets, they will get closer to us, and anything can happen after that.
“There are 18 points to play for between now and then, so anything can happen in football. We are also crossing our fingers that our opponents or challengers should have bad games while we are forging ahead. But we have to try to win every game that we can,” he said.
Wanderers are dictating the league, but they are out of all cup competitions.
In the inaugural Airtel Top 8 Cup, Wanderers lost to Silver Strikers on post-match penalties before also surrendering the Carlsberg Cup to Bullets in a similar manner.
Moyale also knocked Wanderers out of the Fisd Challenge Cup.
