Youth Wave, Joseph Kamwendo Foundation partner in Covid-19 fight

A youth led Non-Governmental Organisation -Youth Wave has partnered Joseph Kamwendo Foundation to raise awareness on the dangers of Covid-19 through digital messages.

Through the partnership, the Flames legend will be the spokesperson for all activities on Covid-19 for the two organisations.

The two organisations will also mobilise resources to buy hand-washing facilities as a response to Covid-19 which has killed thousands of people in the World.

Youth Wave Executive Director, John Nyirenda said his organisation will build capacity for the foundation.

“As Youth Wave, we will try to build capacity for JK Foundation especially through training the coaches on health, education and sports programming. Through our partnership, we will develop messages so that we reach out to people on the Covid-19. As gathering is restricted, the messages will be shared on digital platforms,” Nyirenda said.

Kamwendo confirmed the partnership yesterday saying he would use the platform to spread the messages on the dangers of Covid-19.

“We believe through the partnership; we can help to spread the messages so that we save more people. The Covid-19 is dangerous so we must exercise caution,” Kamwendo said.

Kamwendo launched the foundation in March at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre. The launch took place together with the ceremonial which attracted former Bafana Bafana star Sibusiso Zuma.

At the peak of his football career, Kamwendo played for TP Mazembe, Orlando Pirates, Maculmana, FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark and Don Bosco.

Youth Wave is also in partnership with international organizations such as Grassroots Soccer and Great Minds Property Group.
