Youthful artist makes strides with pencil art

A twenty year old artist Amos Gareta is making progress in his art with a focus on pencil drawing.

The second year Mzuzu University (Mzuni) student, has since bemoaned lack of resources and has urged well-wishers to bail him out.

Gareta said he learnt his art from his father.

The Zomba-based artist said he believes he can excel in the trade if he had enough resources describing drawing materials as expensive.

“Although I specialise in pencil drawing, I need special pencils that will help me in drawing fine drawings. For now, I do not have enough money and this is why I am looking for support,” Gareta said.

His artistry dates back to the time he used to draw cartoons in school, he was a member of a Publications club.

“I used to draw different images depicting different events and pictures of celebrities for the club,” Gareta said.

The artist said he was looking forward to do more and even hold exhibitions in future.
