Zahara performs at 15 Sports Bar
South Africa’s singer and songwriter Zahara, real name, Bulelwa Mkutukana sneaked into the country over the weekend and performed at the official opening of 15 Sports Bar and Lounge in Mandala, Blantyre.
This was not the first time for Zahara to perform in the country as she has had performances in Blantyre and Lilongwe.
However, her performance this time around was more like a surprise.
“Yes Zahara was here on Friday during the official opening of 15 Sports Bar and Lounge and she performed. She was a surprise package for our guests,” said James Makunje Jnr on Sunday.
He said the 15 Sports Bar and Lounge, among others, offers light meals and cocktails and that it opens every Tuesdays through to Sundays from 12 noon until midnight.
“Zahara offered a very good performance and our guests enjoyed the night. We are excited to open this place and we will continue to offer the best,” he said.
Zahara continues to spark with her music and in 2011, she released her debut album Loliwe, which went platinum in 13 days and double platinum after 17 days, selling over 100,000 copies in South Africa.
During the event, the guests also took time to take photographs with the singer, who has since returned home.
