Zambian club out of friendlies
Zambia Super Division club, Nkhwazi FC, have chickened out of a friendly they were scheduled to play against Silver Strikers in Lilongwe on Sunday.
Silver interim General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, Thursday confirmed that Silver might just play against Chipata City Council FC, also from Zambia, Saturday.
Nyirenda said Nkhwazi, who are owned by the police in Lusaka, have other engagements over the weekend.
“We have asked our contacts in Zambia to get us a top-flight league team that can come as a replacement for Nkhwazi. But that is subject to confirmation,” he said.
Two weeks ago, Silver travelled to Chipata Province of Zambia where they played friendlies in preparation for the 2018 season.
Silver won Airtel Top 8 Cup last season and are keen on bagging the Super League championship next season.
